"The Church does not need the intellectually great. The times do not demand wealthy men. It is not people of great social influence that is required. Above everybody and everything else, the Church and the whole wide world of humanity need men of faith and mighty prayer."
E.M. Bounds

But what about "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, MIND, soul, and strength"?
All are equally important, aren't they?
Heather,
As a Wesleyan Methodist Christian, I wholeheartedly agree that loving God with the mind is important and that using reason along with faith is essential. However, Bound's quote emphasizes that God's wisdom sought through faith and prayer are more important to the church than human wisdom and "book" learning.
